OUR JOURNEY

It is often quite easy to ask someone to relax. Is it really that simple?

Well, I learned it the hard way.

After going through numerous blood tests, sonography scans and CT scans, I realized that the real cause for the pain in my stomach was “Stress”. Wait! Could stress really cause physical pain? I spent some time doing my research, and I found out about my condition known as “Irritable Bowel Syndrome” (IBS). Is there medication for this? Yes. The medication can only suppress the symptoms, and the pain comes haunting back as soon as you are back to your stress routine.

We are all aware of how stress and anxiety can affect our mood, sleep and energy levels. A prolonged period of stress can cause much more than just bad moods. It starts to manifest in physical symptoms – and that’s when things start to get complicated!

Is there a straight forward answer to tackle this? The simple answer is no. Our brain is too complex. Scientists and researchers have been working tirelessly to understand the source of eternal happiness (if there is any such thing, that is).

Is there one solution to stress? Some said, try meditation. Ah, that helped yes. But, does it work in the same way for everyone? I realized that there were a few more things that helped me even more.

So we finally come to how Jus Bee was born. It is not one, but a combination of activities that actually works. That combination is unique to each person, and hence it becomes difficult to pin point to one thing as the magical solution. Even a magic wand couldn’t help Harry Potter to be stress free, remember?

A few meetings with counsellors, therapists and specialist doctors gave us some insight into a wide spectrum of things that cause stress and the ways that they advice their patients to treat them. We came up with cognitive behavioral techniques, meditation techniques, sound therapy and wellness exercises. However, we concluded that as much as all these were important to maintaining sound mental health, it is also very important for us to do what we love! Singing, dancing, gardening, painting.. do what you love!

There are supposedly four happy hormones that seem like a simple solution. Dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and endorphins. The exact sources of each of these hormones is not known with certainty. A few studies are suggestive of their probable sources.

Jus Bee is a platform that focuses on raising levels of happy hormones rather than trying to “reduce” stress. The goal here is to incentivize you to inculcate positive habits on a regular basis so that you naturally end up spending lesser time mulling over the “negatives”. There is an array of things to choose from until you can find the perfect combination that suits you. We understand and respect that everyone is unique with their ways of dealing with stress. Hence, we shall strive to come up with more activities for you to choose from based on professional advise from doctors as well as feedback from our customers.

And finally, we do believe that this is gradual process, and change does not happen overnight. While we encourage each one of you to help yourselves with all activities that we have curated specially for you; at no point should you feel pressured to see immediate results – that in a way increases stress and defeats the whole purpose! Learn to enjoy the process of self love as you try to spend more time doing things that feed you these happy hormones. There is a good reason why we named it so. Just Be!
